How Traits work
Traits are each Operator’s skill tree. They are confirmed in Activision’s material and in press coverage:
- 66 Traits in three trees: Warfighter (combat), Scout (loot, cash and intel) and Survivalist (staying alive and getting out).
- Each tree has 6 Major and 16 Minor Traits.
- You earn one Trait Point per Dog Tag rank, up to 18 per Operator.
- The first point in a tree gives you a random Minor Trait.
- Picks are permanent. Once you choose a Trait it is locked in. There is no respec except Prestige, which resets everything.

How to spend your first points
- Solo players: Survivalist first. Free Revive and Die Hard turn a bad fight into a survived one.
- Squads: split the trees. One player takes Scout for loot and cash, one takes Survivalist for revives, one takes Warfighter.
- Grinding for Prestige: Scout. Hostile Looter and Investor feed the Ingredient and cash costs.
Because picks cannot be undone, plan a full 18-point build before you spend anything. The Trait Builder lets you try builds and share them.
Prestige Traits
Each Operator Prestige adds one random Permanent Prestige Trait, up to three, that survives future resets. See Operator Prestige.
